As you can probably tell, Big Wings is building up to a Fantasy Zone II DX mega post, but in the interim I'll be posting tidbits of information related to what has to be one of the more interesting ports/remakes from Sega.
As part of the promotion for the games release on PS2, Sega/M2 issued a limited number of cabinets running on System 16 C hardware - this was basically Sega's System 16 hardware with expanded RAM.
I would love have seen these boards officially released and available, but I presume the scope for doqing something like this is probably too big a budget for something as niche as FZ. Still, the effort and dedictation here is admirable - I'm still on the hunt for a set of the FZII DX instructions cards (pictured below), I haven't seen any in the wild and I'd imagine getting hold of them would be very difficult, given they were never officially distributed or sold.
